Den 21.9.2021 berättade EIF att huvudtränaren Guillem Santesmases har satts åt sidan från positionen som huvudtränare för EIF’s representationslag. Detta väckte mycket debatt och diskussion bland EIF’s fotbollsfans. I syftet att skapa arbetsro åt alla parter samt gjuta grunden för kunna gå vidare vill Guillem och klubben offentligöra detta utlåtande.
Under veckan som gått har vi, Guillem och klubben, i tätt samarbete och i en öppen dialog analyserat säsongen 2021, vad som skett och vad som inte skett, på och utanför fotbollsplanen. Det är mot bakgrunden av denna gemensamma förståelse, som vi båda fastslår att förutsättningarna för Guillem att fortsätta som huvudtränare icke existerar. Guillems arbetskontrakt med klubben är i kraft i ytterligare i en månad till slutet av oktober.
Men sedan blir det dags att gå vidare, både för Guillem och för klubben. Tillsammans har vi haft fyra fantastiska år av samarbete, men nu delar våra vägar på sig i vänskap och respekt. Guillems hälsning till klubben: “Min tid i EIF har kommit till ända, och detta är en tid jag aldrig kommer att glömma. Jag vill tacka spelarna, personalen och klubben, det har varit ett privilegium. Tack också till fansen och till staden, som stött mig då när det gått bra men också då när det inte gått så bra. Jag önskar er all lycka och välgång.”
Slutligen vill vi båda göra det klart att vi inte i framtiden kommer att kommentera detta ärende mera.

The announcement on 21.9.2021, suspending Guillem Santesmases from the position of Head Coach for the First team of EIF, raised a lot of discussion among football fans of EIF. In order to pave the way for moving forward, Guillem and the club have together prepared this statement.
During the week that has passed, we have in close cooperation and dialogue jointly examined the 2021 season, what has happened and what has not happened, on the pitch and off the pitch. It is with this shared in-depth understanding that we both agree that the preconditions for Guillem to continue as Head Coach have seized to exist. Guillem’s employment contract with the club continues for another month, until the end of October.
But then comes the time to move on, both for Guillem as well as for the club. Together we have had a fantastic run during these four years, but now our ways will part in friendship and respect. Guillem’s greetings to the club: “My time at EIF has come to an end, and they will be years I will never forget. I want to thank the players, the staff and the club, It’s been a privilege for me. Thank you also to the fans and this town for their support throughout not only the good times but also the not so good. I wish you all the best.”
Finally, we both want to make it clear that we will make no further comment on this issue.
